The new Mechatronics Labs at Loyalist College support graduates of the Electromechanical Engineering Technician – Mechatronics program.
Loyalist College students learn how to use these facilities to develop the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce in a wide variety of industrial environments and advanced manufacturing devices.
New Program to Boost Local Industry
With more than $5 billion output each year, manufacturing is the Bay of Quinte region’s largest economic contributor and has the potential to grow exponentially in future years.
The creation of the new program responds to local manufacturers’ needs for more skilled trades professionals who have a combination of mechanical, electrical, and computer software skills to design, implement, maintain and repair automation systems, robotic equipment and new products.
International Partnership
As part of their program, students complete Level One and Level Two of the globally recognized Siemens Mechatronics Systems certification, a micro-credential which Loyalist College and Siemens announced in January 2021.
