Dr. Clara Tascón joined the Applied Research and Innovation Office (ARIO) at Loyalist College in April 2024. She is the Senior Research Specialist of the Centre for Healthy Communities (CFHC).
She has extensive experience in applied research, social innovation in the field of higher education, health and wellness, equity, critical policy analysis, campus-community partnerships, and collaborative and participatory action research. Her intercultural background and understanding of diversity, different knowledges, ways of knowing and being have been a crucial foundation in her teaching and research practice in the Canadian educational contexts. Dr. Tascón believes that knowledge is socially produced in academic and non-academic contexts, and applied research is a genuine way to approach, co-create, translate and mobilize knowledge to nurture innovative socio-educational initiatives with and within the local/global community.
